Continue funding of the 39 Beech St. Shelter?

The City of Manchester is considering whether to continue funding the homeless shelter at 39 Beech Street for another year.

While the shelter is not located in Ward 9, it sits directly across the street from our ward boundary — making its impact very real for our neighborhoods.

Since the end of January 2025, there have been:

• 30+ police reports directly from the shelter itself (including drugs, assaults, and thefts)

• 50+ additional reports within a ¼ mile radius
